Recreational Boating Education
The Chesapeake Maritime Safety Group focuses on educating the recreational boater in order to decrease the number of on the water incidents. Currently CSMG provides three levels of education. While we are working on other types of training and education options these will provide the basic education needed to safely navigate the Chesapeake Bay and enjoy all it has to offer.

Maryland Safe Boating Classes
The 8-hour Maryland Certified Safe Boating course. This is required by any person who wants to operate a vessel on Maryland Waters and who was born after July 1, 1972.
The Safe Boating course will provide a basic knowledge of boating terms, the proper navigation rules, Maryland Laws and more.
